Our departure points are usually from the San Pedro Belize Express for our clients coming from Caye Caulker and San Pedro, or from Terminal 1 at the cruise ship dock for our cruise ship clients. If you need us to pick you up from a specific hotel, let us know via email and we’d be glad to accommodate your needs. We can do pickups anywhere in Belize City. Guests on San Pedro, Caye Caulker, St. George’s Caye and other islands would need to come in to Belize City to be picked up. Our tours usually leave at 9:00 AM CST, but if you’d like to leave earlier, let us know. We do not offer pickups at Harvest Caye for cruise passengers coming on Norwegian Cruise Line ships as it is a private island owned by that company and most local operators are unable to offer tours there.

The tour begins with a scenic three hour drive down the highway towards Xunantunich. Many small villages can be seen along the way and the nation’s capital, Belmopan and the town of San Ignacio. Traveling West takes you a mile away from the Guatemalan border after which we will cross the Mopan River in a hand cranked ferry. The tour of Xunantunich, or the Stone Maiden begins! This beautiful Mayan ruin was a major ceremonial center and has several plazas and a large selection of classic period structures. The site also has El Castillo, the second tallest structure in Belize (after the temple at Caracol), at some 130 feet (40 m) tall. Those who are adventurous enough to climb to the top will be rewarded with panoramic views of Belize and Guatemala.
Don’t hesitate! Book with Jose Tours
We were staying in San Pedro and all the excursions we saw online were for Jose Tours, so took the water taxi and Jose picked us up from there and made sure we got back in time to take it back over later that day! It’s was nice having a private tour because we really got to talk and connect with Jose! He is a great guy and will go above and beyond to accommodate you and your party. He also took us to a local spot after our tour was over because had some time to kill. He also took us to the airport a couple days later! He’s a reputable guy and we felt very safe with him. He’s part of our family now & we will always use him from now on when we head back to Belize!
The Best Team
We booked last minute because our original arrangements fell through. Jose and his team could not have been more accommodating. We were picked up by Said and Jose’s daughter, the brilliant Johanna. They were fun and informative and relaxed and professional. A perfect tour and we were thrilled.
